Current Academic Courses
When I first graduated in Creative Writing in 2018, I was terrified of advanced science and math, and put my whole academic effort into understanding people, storytelling, writing, cultures, and languages.
After operating successfully in full time technical writing work in advanced science and engineering companies with no formal engineering education, I have happily discovered that I have developed the mindset it takes to thrive in science and math--and even have fun.
Coworkers who specialized in sciences and math even encouraged me to return to subjects I found difficult, and I am very thankful to have worked with so many kind, intelligent people who care about my professional growth.
I decided to pursue a degree in computer science after many years of asking for more contextual information for my projects, and feeling unsatisfied with the response I often got : "I didn't need to know".
Just like writing in the age of AI, I believe that strong understanding of ai tools and how to best use them stems from strong foundations in the art of carefully constructing the fuel that ai tools ingest, whether it be written text or code: it is always an advantage to begin with a deep understanding of all components you are putting into something. It all builds from there.

This fall, I am taking a Java programming course, and beginnning a series of advanced math courses to improve my mathematical reasoning for more advanced coding.

I have also registered for the following weekly seminars at ASU to listen in and learn. I love listening to new ideas, presenting relevant points to teams, and researching solutions to integrate into current processes.
